Off we go!
Plank road is a bit broken.
Handsome new bridge over the Kopsusjoki river.
Cloudberry flower.
This plank road is still walkable, but soon we are in the swamp.
Rover tracks, full of water.
Easy fording, only ankle deep.
Last ford before the hut, pants were automatically washed too.
Paleonthology in the bio waste.
Old plank road piled neatly. I would preferred walking on it.
Teemu finds a natural plank road.
Hairdryer after the sauna at Luirojärvi.
This forest house was just renovated. The man on the wall is president Urho Kekkonen, and the place is in Urho Kekkonen National Park.
Someone's tent half capsized in a mild storm.
Look closely and you can see the Sokosti mountain.
Green creek moss.
Up in Maantiekuru ("highway pass"), with a small lake.
Looks like ancient stone wall but it's just eroded rock.
Even lichen are growing in squares.
Barren rock.
This is where a new river begins. It will flow to the Arctic Sea, while the previous lake flows towards the Baltic Sea.
Flower.
The stream is wide but just centimetres deep.
Waterfall in the widening stream.
Teemu was surprised by the burl.
River Sarvijoki in the morning sun.

A perfect campsite next to the Sotavaaranoja river.
Someone rolled some big dice.
River crossing for the wimps.
Teemu eating from the pocket bag after the crossing.
No we did not dare to cross here.
River Suomujoki, wide and calm.
A view into the soil.
Like AI was with us creating images. I still believe I actually shot this on camera.
Porttikoski cottage.
The window at Porttikoski faces North, but that is exactly where the view is.
Another rapids at Suomujoki, we were getting a bit bored of the running water.
Teemu crossing a rocky swamp, an interesting combination.
Pretty colours, the North end of lake Lankojärvi.
We were walking on a ridge but suddenly it broke and there was a ford between.
Lankojärvi ford from the South...
...and North.
When they built the Lankojärvi hut in 1967 they probably did not design the tree in the stairs.
My best holiday: Teemu washing the dishes. He claimed that he would do it if there was a brush instead of a sponge. Finally we found one.
View at Rautulampi.
Modern day hut at Rautulampi.
This stream led us to the hut.
Chilling at the Rautulampi hut.
Modern hut is full of light but also echoing empty.
Leaving Rautulampi for the last day's walk.
Kuutamokuru, "moonlit gorge".
Only downhill ahead.
Mosquito bites.
